I was born in El Campo, Texas and raised in Sheridan, Arkansas.
This is where I began my musical career. I began singing in school with a three piece band for local events in my hometown.
After graduation, we were playing locally when I received a vocal award from Sheridan, Arkansas. It was then that
I was asked to play with a band out of Little Rock called the White Buffalo Band. We played festivals and state fairs
in Arkansas and eventually branched out and started to play in Texas & Mississippi. I then moved to Texas and
performed with several bands and played with Ricky Gilly (Mickie Gilly's son) while I searched for musicians to start
my own band. I have also performed at Club 88, Circle Club, the Golden Cask Supper Club, and many more. I finally
put together some musicians and we named the band SpellBound. We played in Galveston, Crystal Beach, Alexandria, Little
Rock, and many other cities. I still felt like something was missing even though the band was formed. I moved
to Lafayette, Louisiana and played with local musicians: Zebra, Tommy McClain, Johnny Allen, Danny Leal, etc.
I then decided to start up Spellbound again with some local musicians. As you know, it takes a while to really get what
you are looking for. I have played with several fill-in musicians and now I have finally found what I feel is
one of the best bands around! We are now called Melanie Foreman and SpellBound and I have been truly blessed to be able
to play with some of the best musicians in Louisiana.
